Blog 6: Thing I am going to do after quarantine.

Hello everyone!!

Being quarantined hasn’t been much different than my “normal” life. I like being at house, but in this time, I have missed doing the a few activities I did.

I think we all want to get back to having the freedom to go out and hang out with as many people as possible as we can and that’s what I want most:

Parque de Los Reyes - Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libreWhen the quarantine is over, I’d like to join my (church) friends in a park or wherever to do what we love to do together: sing. I long to see them and talk to them. I also want to see my friends from high school, because I haven’t seen them since long before quarantine and I miss them. I also want to see all my relatives.

Before the pandemic I was in piano lessons and they stopped because the quarantine. I want to have piano lessons again. I want to learn to play that instrument, because I love it, but it’s been really hard to learn without a teacher.

Honestly, I also want to get back to my church… I miss being there.

Thanks for reading my blog and I hope you are well
I'll see you later!

Blog 5: A photograph and its story...

Hello everyone! This is my fifth blog and I'm talking about an important photo in my life.

In this photo you can see my friends: Abisag, Rachel, Valentina and Betiana. In 2017, we made our band, called: The Maidens jaja. This photo was taken after our first live presentation in the evangelical cathedral of Rancagua.

It was a short presentation, where we sang a mix of two christian songs. We were very nervous, because it was our first presentation with a lot of people. The nerves got worse when we went onstage and saw all those people! When it was my turn to sing, I did´t listen my voice and I panicked, but I kept singing.

Many things happened during the presentation than discouraged us, but we enjoyed doing what we like. And in spite of everything, everyone congratulated us and thanked us for our participation in that event.

Thanks for reading my blog and I hope you are well
I'll see you later!

Blog 4: My favorite band!!

Hi everyone! In my fourth blog I'm talking about my favorite band!!

It's very difficult to choose, because I listen a lot of music and different artists, but lately I have listened for hours to this band... My favorite band is called Elevation Worship.

Elevation Worship is a contemporary christian music band, which has six members:  Jonsal Barrientes, Tiffany Hammer, Chris Brown (leader of the band), Davide Mutendji, Anna Sailors and Jenna Winders.

The band was born in 2006 at the Elevation Church, thanks to pastor Steven Furtick (who is also a composer in the band)... They sing in their church (with a great choir), and also for the world.

I love their music, their lyrics and their voices, because when I listen them, I feel a lot of peace, however, my member favorite is Tiffany Hammer, because she has a special voice: a sweet and "powerful" voice.

Elevation Worship released their last album, about a month ago, called: Graves into Gardens. My favorite song from that album is My Testimony...

 (here you can hear it)

Blog 3: My favorite piece of technology

Hi everyone! In this blog I'm talking about my favorite piece of technology. It is a little difficult to decided only one, but I think I have an idea of what it is...

All of us use this. It is an essential piece in the world and has different functions: I'm talking abouth cell phones!

There are a million cell phones (or more) with different prices, models and brands.

In cell phones we find many applications to listen to music, take pictures, talk to our families or friends, and to play. With cell phones we can do many things, because there are apps for every need: to communicate, we have WhatsApp and many more. To learn some lenguage: Duolingo, for example. And to watch movies or series: Netflix, etc! There are many things... Unfortunately,  there are people who use these objects to do bad things: like fake news and cyberbulling.
I love listening to music and taking pictures with my phone... what about you? what’s your favorite cell phone function?

Blog 2: Why did you choose to study this degree?

Hi everyone!! In my second blog I'll talk about my career and why I am studying that...

When I was in high school, I hade make an online journal with my group. When we finished the work I was delighted with all that, loved investigating, interviewing and writing about it. There I decided to study journalism.

Studying journalism has forced me to learn other lenguages and that is something I had always wanted to do, because I would love to travel to other countries like U.S and Italy. I'm learning English, then I'd like to learn Italian.

Well, I study journalism because, in addition to investigate and write, journalism seeks to tell people the truth over the authorities or any power or at least that's the idea of journalism. I want to do that, I want to tell what happens to others, because it's their right to be informed.

Journalism is a interesting career, because you have a duty to defend human rights and you can do it in different ways, whether on a radio, photography, television or in a newspaper (online or digital), but your duty is the same.

And I wouldn't mind traveling doing my job.

If you want to comment, do it! 😉 It would me very happy.

Blog 1: Who am I?

If you read this, you'll know me a litte more. This is my story or a little bit of it...

Me, When I was a baby
My name is Crystal Sarmiento Jara ✌, I was born on January 23, 2001 in Santiago de Chile, specifically, in Puente Alto. I live in Rancagua with my parents, my younger brother and our dog: Doki 🐶.

I have two brothers: The oldest is called Matias, he is 23 and he’s been married since last year to Natalia Guajardo 💏. My younger brother is Felipe, he's 11 👦. My mom's name is Mónica 💆, works in a high school as a toilet attendant. My dad's name is Eduardo 👨 and right now, he has no a job.

                  My family                        Me and Doki
My primary school I did at the Ena Bellemans Montti College (I was there for 8 years and not everyone was nice). When I finished primary school, I went to the Liceo Comercial Diego Portales (although I had trouble getting in). In 2018 I finished secondary school and the next year I got my degree in Administration mention Logistics -medium level-. In the same year (2019), I began studying journalism at the Universidad de Chile, at the Institute of Communication and Image: that was unexpected, because my score was not enough to enter, but now I am in my second year in the best career of the world.💓

When I was at the Liceo Comercial Diego Portales, I participated in two contests, together with my friends. The name of the firts contest was "Mi energía, tu energía", organized by the INCACAP Institute. I participated with Carlos and Katalina and we won the first place!! 🎉. The second competition was organized by the Central Bank, called "Economía + Cerca", but this time we participated with Josué -another friend- and we won the third place: it was an amazing experience!!, because we ate a lot and we stayed in a hotel!!🍰🍝🏨.

Here is the video of our first contest ↑🙈

Years ago I’m part of my church dance group, where I have great friends. This year I decided to make a dream com true: I always wanted to learn to play piano and I'm doing it. It has cost me a little, but I like it a lot. I also like to watch suspense series, action and mistery. Besides, I dance and sing... it's just hobbies I don't show much jeje.

If you're interested, this is the song I'm learning on piano...

And... That's me 👀😊. Thanks for reading my blog.
